I didn’t just go to Global Excel Summit 2024 as a mere employee
I’ve been to all four Global Excel Summits now, stretching back to the inaugural edition in 2021.
I wasn’t an employee for the first two. However, I was delighted to become part of the setup in 2022, in prep for the third of the following year.
This year’s was extra special, though, with the in-person element giving the event a newfound dimension.
While online sessions will always have their place, there was something great about packing my suitcase, staying a couple of nights in a London hotel, and sleeping just a stone’s throw from our swish and swanky venue.
I enjoyed loads of sessions. I won’t name my favourites as it’d be unfair to the ones I don’t mention. However, it was great bumping into people I had only ever seen on a screen before and having some impromptu chit-chat.
As an actual Excel fan, I’m fortunate to be able to look at things through the lens of an attendee — not just as a mere employee doing a job. And let’s face it, not everyone can say that.
Nevertheless, I’m thrilled to receive my certificate. I do need to buy a high-quality photo frame before I stick it up on the wall, though! 😄
