Summing Columns in Excel
The announcement of eta lambda support has further simplified the summing of columns.
When the BYCOL function was released, I was impressed that we finally had a solution that didn’t involve referencing every column individually.
It’s gone to the next level now, though.
We only need to reference the data range and specify SUM inside BYCOL to get the job done.
No more nesting LAMBDA!
Before you get too excited, it is a beta feature, so Method 4 is only possible for Microsoft 365 Insiders at this moment in time. Nevertheless, you should prepare for it to become your go-to solution when it’s rolled out to the production version.
Whatever you do, avoid Method 1!
