Stacking it on a Saturday run
On a mild yet wet, muddy, and sludgy early morning, my Saturday 12 km run turned into a bit of an obstacle course in places.
However, I was doing fine up until the last couple of kilometres, when I unexpectedly tumbled while running across a road.
Perhaps my injuries would have been worse if I’d suddenly dropped, but I seemed to go down in stages.
I’m pleased to report there are no broken bones — just a noticeable gash on my elbow and a smaller one on my leg.

Like the true pro I am, I got up as quickly as I could and carried on as though nothing had happened.
There was a car coming towards me on the other side of the road, but the side I fell on was clear.
Yes, I made the AI-generated cover image a little more dramatic!
No doubt they had a good laugh — and the one or two pedestrians about.
I haven’t had a moment like that for many years, although I’ve had the odd near miss.
When was the last time you stacked it?
