How do you pronounce the ‘365’ in Microsoft 365?
Apparently, I’ve been pronouncing the ‘365’ in Microsoft 365 incorrectly.
Ever since the advent of its predecessor, Office 365, I’ve always said ‘three six five’ without thinking.
And yet, hearing one Excelfluencer say ‘three sixty-five’ in a video today prompted me to investigate further.
According to sources, Microsoft prefers ‘three sixty-five’ in its official videos.
It doesn’t seem right to me. Surely, by saying that, you’re separating the ‘3’ from the ’65’ — therefore, it should be written as ‘3-65’. In that sense, it’s no real different to ‘thirty-six five’ (’36-5′).
As for ‘three hundred and sixty-five’ — that’s just an unnecessary mouthful.
Regardless, ‘three six five’ makes the most sense, so I’ll continue to use that.
