Excel is 39 years old — let’s look back at its many logos
Prediction: Excel will get a new logo next year.
On Monday (30 September), Excel celebrated its 39th birthday. This means it’s just one year off the big four-zero.
If that milestone is not significant enough, it’s worth remembering that Microsoft itself will be due to celebrate half a century of existence.
With those two facts in mind, along with the last major Excel and Microsoft logos having been released in 2019 and 2012, respectively, it makes sense both will receive a refresh.
I’ll also add that Excel has never had a logo lasting more than six years.
Yes, I am creating a rumour. I don’t know what the actual plan is, but it’s hard not to see something major happening.
